Add vinegar to chemical burn, water makes it worse. I learned this on fight club.
Vinegar is acidic though, how would it help it?
Idk. Watched it on fight club. I trust tyler durden
You add vinegar if what burned you was a base. The lyme (I'm never sure of the damned spelling) he used is a very, very, very strong base.
Apparently it works for bee stings because they're also a base.
I don't think that's right. I'm fairly certain the toxin that causes the stinging in a bee sting is a specific enzymatic response and the acetic acid of vinegar cause it to denature, effectively destroying the toxin. I could be wrong though.
You just broke the number 1 rule of fight club.
Naw, im talking bout project mayhem now
Applying cold water to a burned area is actually worse for it. The best thing to do is press it against another area of skin. Skin transfers heat quickly and will bring it back to a normal temperature.
Making the burn go from hot to very cold that quickly damages skin and nerves, causing it to hurt more than normal once you take away the soothing effect of pouring cold water on it.
interesting.. good to know
