It should be noted that this only works if your kitten was actually around its mother for a significant amount of time. I have two cats. One that we got from the humane society, and one from my Uncles farm. The cat from the humane society was abandoned as a kitten, and its gets really pissed off when you do this. It's quite the opposite effect of "deactivation". Now, the farm kitten grew up with its mother, and thus, falls over like a a Jenga game whenever you do this.
