No. The first sentence simply states that she walks .25 miles to get to school. The second sentence is independent of the first and is not necessarily meant to be in congruence with the first.

if alice is a teacher... this makes sense
regardless, it's nowhere near 30 miles
All that the first sentence is saying is that somewhere in her commute to school, Alice walks .25 mile to a bus stop. This t/f statement says nothing else directly about her commute to school. The final statement is, "her commute is 30 miles. " Not, "her commute to school is 30 miles. "
She walks the remaining .17 mile to "work." mille120 is correct in this is still accurate only if Alice is a teacher/professor. Story matters to people who aren't just fact based, this shit will seriously hold us up on a test because the person writing it fucked up.
Yea I get fed up with these types of questions because I tend to over analyze minute details that draw my attention away from the point of the question. Regardless, I stand by what I said. In a logical analysis of this "question", the destination of Alice is irrelevant to her overall commute.
