I nearly imploded when I read what he said. Then I actually imploded when I found out he's leading in the polls.
This is why I'm going to join the Democrat Party.
In the Republican Party, if you say something stupid and asinine, you get torn a new one from both sides.
In the Democrat Party, you can drown people and get turned into a Paragon.
Nah, people like to make fun of politicians regardless of party.
Not exactly. That might fly if my 'drowning people' example was theoretical. Ted Kennedy got wasted and drove his car into a lake with a woman in it who didn't make it out and decided not to tell anybody for awhile; he just walked on home without calling the police. That not only should have ended his career but it should have landed him in prison -- instead he became one of the most respected Democrats in the nation.
Meanwhile, half the country is being tarred with the faux pas of one man whilst the Democrat Party hails a rampant misogynist like Bill Clinton as a great man.
Yeah, sometimes people will make fun a Democrat as well, but it's about 20 to 1 -- and it's either someone trying to show what an equal opportunity offender they are or a conservative trying to balance things (which is likely to end with that conservative being mercilessly attacked). Nobody would even touch Barack Obama until 2 years into his presidency.
This can probably be chalked up to the fact that comedians are entertainers, most entertainers are liberal and comedians shape our views of comedy. That and a strong helping of trying to frame the debate "for the team".
Whole reason this story took off was because they needed a quick change of subject after the several back-to-back gaffes by Biden last week. And just today, Obama misspelled "Ohio" at a campaign event--but we all remember it was Dan Quayle who was ridiculed for misspelling "potatoes."
Another example is Al Gore Sr. and Robert Byrd setting the number 1 and 2 records for longest filibuster attempt ever when they tried to block the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Somehow Gore (and now his son) and Byrd are hailed as fabled democrat icons, when they were lunatic, racist nutjobs. Byrd was actually a grand-wizard in the KKK! But we all know it was really the Republicans who were the real racists (despite 82% of them voting in favor of the Civil Rights Act)!
I agree, what he said was terrible. However, these posts prove Lolbrary's clear liberal bias. Where are the Joe Biden "he's gonna put y'all in chains" memes?
This isn't an attack on republicans, it's an attack on one retarded politician.
Biden's repeated stupid comments are a meme. And of course there's a bias here, there's also a bias on MSNBC and FOX and CNN and on and on. Trust me, the internet empire of the Lolbrary is not furthering any agenda. "Liberal bias" simply isn't an insult anymore
Biden tries his damnedest to be the biggest idiot in the country and you still rarely see him being made fun of relative to other people saying less stupid things.
That's because no one gives a fuck about Biden. Jokes that make fun of him are just boring.
Right, people don't give a crap about hundreds of moronic comments by unimportant people like the second in line to rule the country, what we're all concerned about is "what awful thing did some schmuck in Missouri say".
No, Biden's stuff is a lot funnier than a guy being misinformed about rape and pregnancy.
Well that's your opinion, but I just don't find biden jokes funny. Nothing to do with my political beliefs (obama jokes can be really funny).
were? because mine aint got one
