Well thats an opinion, I personally hate his music, him, and most everything he stands for.

Yes--while it'd be preferable people express their likes and dislikes as opinions, the only thing you can do other than to correct them is to simply take a statement like that as a person expressing their opinion or realize a statement like that is implying an opinion. Although, the person may just very well be deciding it's not their opinion and what they are saying is absolute and infallible. shrug

My opinion is far from infallible. I'll admit, calling Kanye's music "beautiful" was poor choice of words. I guess the point I was trying to make is that, the fact that someone is an egotistical prick(ex. Kanye)should have little or no bearing on whether or not people like their music. It's the music biz. If the song's good, who cares if the guys a dick? That's just my personal philosophy when approaching music. One of my favorite bands is Metallica. Is Metallica made up of wholesome, loving individuals? HAH! Do they make kick-ass songs that I will love till the day I die? You betcha. Apologizes for ranting, I just care about music a lot.

Agreed m8. His public personality is appalling, but, one day, a friend at work gave me a Kanye mix cd - He's still a cocky bastard in most of his songs, but for me, the only thing that matters in music is how it sounds, and it sounded incredible.

Yea man, I never really listened to him much until I went on a mini-road trip with a good friend of mine, and we listened to Kanye's album "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy". Absolutely AMAZING album!

Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, Elvis, Aretha Franklin, Al Green, Otis Redding, Louis Armstrong, The Beach Boys, The Rolling Stones, Buddy Holly, The Yardbirds. I'll admit, a couple of these are year or two of of exactly 50, but you get the point.
