I agree, it shouldn't have been pg-13 then it could have been pretty good. I hate when they take adult themed movies and cut out a bunch of shit to make it pg-13.

The book was aimed for a younger audience so I don't think making the movie rated "R" would be a very smart move.

You are 100% right, it would have been a terrible business decision. But from an art and quality standpoint, it would have made the movie much better. It sucks when good things have to sell out though you know?
