any background info?
Muslim terrorists felt that they had to kill them, and they did.
And what is the insinuation of your comment?
Personally, I don't care for being Politically correct, I'm stating it as it happened.
Technically you're making a blanket statement with no analysis/input whatsoever...
They were terrorists, and they killed them, why? because they hate Israel, I don't blame them. I prefer saying it as I see it, and that's exactly what happened, I could go dig up a ton of facts, but I really don't want to waste my time like that tonight.
Okay, Uzaka, I used to like you but your ignorance has fucking changed that.
Here's a history lesson: Great Britain had originally offered to give the southern (desert) half of Palestine to the Jews who were to be lower income farmers to the Palestinians anyways; a deal which the Palestinians decided to go to war over...a war in which they ended up losing their own land to the people they had originally preemptively attacked.
Going even further back, Britain conquered Israel in 1917 from the Ottomans...who had conquered it from the Seljuk Turks who had conquered it from Eastern Christians. Using your logic we should give Israel to Greek Orthodox Christians.
"I prefer saying it as I see it." You gave a fucking one sentence description that meant absolutely nothing to back up your ignorant fucking offensive claim. Go fuck yourself and let the big boys play politics, okay?
Fucker. You probably couldn't even find Israel on a map.
It's somewhere in the middle east, A bit North east of Egypt I believe, on the coast.
Then Israel went out and killed a bunch of innocents too though. Like most conflicts there are those who did terrible things on both sides.
Agreed -- ironically, the most ignorance and hatred on this issue seems to reside on the set of both sides when either party refuses to negotiate and/or listen to the other and resorts to extreme measures.
I know they did, Personally, I hate that the US/UK governments had the Nerve to take Palestine away from the Palistinians, and give it to the Jews who could have lived there anyway.
Jewish farmers (many of whom were survivors of the holocaust) who attempted to form low-income, non-subsidized kibbutzim (farm/living communities) were routinely attacked, murdered, and had their harvests stolen by their Palestinian colleagues. Don't go around spouting bullshit unless you've actually bothered to fucking learn a little bit about the subject.
But here's the thing, We were discussing the Athletes and their murder, again, by terrorists, Jewish people had lived in Palestine, and didn't seem to care much about having their own country, UK and USA Took that part and gave it to them, Which in my opinion, would make any country mad, How do you think Americans would have reacted if some other country said "Lets take part of America, and give it to the Indians (Native Americans, whatever term you prefer), Americans would have been mad too, and probably start a war to reclaim their land. In my Opinion, the terrorists were at fault for Killing a bunch of athletes who had nothing to do with Israels formation, at the same time, they were angry about having their country taken from them, regardless of how small of a part.
Dude, just shut the fuck up. You have no idea what you're talking about.
So your saying they were perfectly in the right to take a piece of Palestine, and give it to the Jews?
I'm saying that you're the kind of person who reads the top caption of a wikipedia article and thinks he's well-read on a subject. I'm saying that you have a very, very, very narrow understanding of political and economic theory and you are barely informed at all on the history of this matter (much less any period before you were born).
I'm saying that you're exactly the kind of person I hate, Uzaka. The stupid, short sighted, ultra-opinionated fucking dolt that never set foot inside a library except to use its free internet to jerk off to child porn. Good night, and please don't ever open your mouth again.
I'm sorry for getting so worked up, but it's obvious that you've barely researched this topic at all, and unfortunately it's an all too common phenomenon in politics; ESPECIALLY in the Arab/Isreali conflict. You're not a fucking dolt, but honestly man, do your homework before you go around trumpeting your opinion like that.
Honestly, all sides are in the wrong in the middle east now, US, UK, Israel, Palestine, and the rest of the Arab countries getting involved, but there are so many other sides to it, and in the west, we only seem to get the side backing Israel, making the Arabs seem like bad people, Maybe the Israelis provoked them into killing them (With the whole farming village thing), We don't know, and chances are we never will know, everyone has their opinion, Mine is that all sides are wrong, and will continue to be wrong. How I worded it before was saying that, Terrorists killed the athletes, but at the same time they were angry about their country, Putting them in the wrong, The athletes did nothing, and didn't deserve to be killed, which was clearly wrong.
"so many other sides to it, and in the west, we only seem to get the side backing Israel,"
sorry to necro but, in the US*.
In socialist dutchland and I think other parts of Europe as well, we tend to lean towards feeling sorry for the Palestinians rather than supporting Israel. Of course we have our one anti-Islamist-has-lived-in-israel-and-probably-gets-funded-by-zionists party but that's a separate story.
What do you mean "won't"? As in, they are not old enough to remember or that the committee refuses to grant any moment of reflection?

I suspect they just don't feel it appropriate to draw attention to. It's not like they're being anti-semitic or anything, it's just that this happened a long time ago.
Honestly to me this looks a bit silly, it seems like Israel is furious about this and is taking it personally when I highly doubt the olympic committee is doing this to attack Israel or anything. My guess is that they don't want to get involved in unnecessary politics. Especially in this highly sensitive area that has a good chance of stirring up the bad blood between Israel and Palestine. Hell, the entire point of the olympics is to bring countries together, why bring up this drama?
The same thing would happen. And it also would be silly.
As I suspected, the IOC (olympic committee) is wary of bringing this up because they're afraid it will stir the pot between Israel and Palistine.
Here's an excerpt from a huff-post article on the situation:
"But the IOC appears to view such a memorial service as something rife with political statements that could potentially cause an uncomfortable rift at the Games.
IOC President Jacques Rogge rejected proposals from the deputy foreign minister of Israel, Danny Ayalon, and U.S. Reps. Eliot L. Engel and Nita M. Lowey, Democrats from New York, to hold the tribute, according to The New York Times. Rogge said he plans to attend a service organized by Israel’s Olympic committee.
Alex Gilady, an Israeli International Olympics Committee member, was more candid about why officials are opposed to organizing the tribute. According to the Jewish Chronicle, Gilady said officials thought a minute’s silence "may harm the unity of the Olympics” and “could cause some countries to boycott the Games."

I gotta say, I'm with the IOC on this one. Obviously the munich massacre was a terrible thing, and IOC president Jacques Rogge said he will attend and support the memorial held by israel. But having an international program like the olympics bring this up is just bad news. Especially because the state of Israel killed multiple innocent people when they were getting revenge on the terrorists.
hahahaha this is hilarious
In continuation of my earlier comments: I don't think they should do a memorial ceremony either. So much horrible shit has happened in the past, sometimes it's better to forget about it. Furthermore, it's often more destructive to bring it up at all. That being said, if you're one of those "who gives a fuck -- they deserved it because they're Israeli" people then you seriously need to fuck yourself. No innocent person; Israeli, Palestinian, African, deserves to get murdered. Ignorant cocksuckers make me sick.
Of course there should be some sort of memorial ceremony. that is not to day there should be any condemnation on any other countries despite who was responsible, but a condemnation on the men who did it, yes. ignoring those who died is just as ignorant as the cocksuckers you claim to hate .

(cocksucker)
i did. you're dumb. not much else to say. forgetting a tragedy makes you just as ignorant. and judging from your points in this thread, I'm not alone.
That really killed my happiness....
To Decave and Uzaka:
Unless the next comment is about how Eric Bana rocks, give the name-calling a rest. I mean seriously, THE DUDE KILLED A NAKED CHICK WITH SOME SORT OF BLOWDART GUN. PRETTY BADASS AMIRITE!?!?!
Personally I think someone was trialing for the (Hunger) Games with District Israel
Seriously guys???? This is LOLBRARY...If you're gonna start some dramatic war over politics go do it somewhere else, the rest of us are here for entertainment.
Wasn't really on purpose, just sorta happened, You'll get into your own political argument on here eventually, it happens to everyone once in awhile.
Sometimes those are the best posts. Though I don't like how this one got ad hominem.
