For those who don't know, when Sally Ride (fist US woman in space, and a lesbian) died, Mitt Romney went all crocodile tears over her death. Which is hilarious, considering Romney believes homosexuals are sub-human.

Romney does not believe homosexuals are sub-human. If legitimate dialogue and discussion is to take place, there is no room for hyperbole.

And you're the biggest whiner ever. I love hyperbole!

Mormon's don't think of them as subhuman, they just don't support gay marriage. They feel it is destructive to the natural order of the family, and psychologically they have a point.

As a Mormon of 20 years I agree with this statement. We believe that there are certain irreplaceable roles in a family unit that are fulfilled by the father and mother. That is the way that we see is most spiritually beneficial to a child that will help them attain a closer relationship with God. We don't support gay marriage. But you have your agency to do what you want with your own life. +1 to you RGnck1 for saying something educated on the internet.

Well feel free to live your life how you see fit.

Go fuck yourself for forcing others to live their lives how you see fit when evidence shows "their" way doesn't hurt anyone.

Oh, sorry. I voiced an opinion on the internet. Should have known this would happen. /facepalm

Hey, Mormons aren't trying to force anyone to do anything. Furthermore the irony of your aggressiveness is that you are trying to belligerently subdue this person, because they don't agree with you, which is clearly what you were just trying to prevent; or so you claim. Basically you say you are tolerant, only of tolerance, and only if everyone else thinks you're tolerant. Well done.

I completely agree. Mormons have their opinions and that is their right. But they shouldn't be fighting and advocating for the rest of the world to be required to live by what they think is right. After all, everyone is entitled to their own opinion just like they are. So yes... they can go fuck themself.

It is psychologically destructive for children to be stuck in orphanages without any parents at all. I think almost any of those children would benefit from having loving adoptive parents even if the "motherly" or "fatherly" figure is absent.

My "good Christian" parents were neglectful of me growing up and I developed severe mental and psychological problems as a result. If I was given the choice, I would have gladly taken any loving parents over the ones I had, even if they weren't the most optimal from a scientific standpoint.

Romney actually has shown some support for gay rights issues, such as domestic partner rights, and he also supports laws preventing discrimantion against gays.

js

Do we REALLY know her "partner" is being denied any kind of benefits? Is that a verifiable fact?

NO. NO, he supported those issues when running for the governor of Massachusetts and NOW, when he's running for president he can just be a hypocrite.

Honestly, I couldn't tell you if his opinions have changed. I personally haven't seen anything to lead me to believe that's the case, and I saw a few of the debates. Don't recall that coming up, but I could've missed it.

By the way, this wasn't an endorsement for Romney.

I hate Lolbrary now. I want to laugh. If we want to make this a political website, where is the "you didn't build that?" or Obama, in his own book "Dreams from my Father" saying that when he spent a few months in the private sector, he felt like he was "behind enemy lines."
