Engislh is inafct my Thrid Lagnauge, but waht do i konw im not egdy lkie you.
Not trying to be edgy. Just trying to understand your previous comment. As a sentence in English, it doesn't make sense. I'm not talking shit, just asking what you meant.
shrugs
Damn your need for comprehensible structure!
you can suck a dick kind sir. now have a nice day :)
Not into that. Take your gayness somewhere else.
Troll = Fail
there is a difference between trolling and flaming go back to 9gag
What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I'll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I've been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I'm the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get away with saying that shit to me over the Internet? Think again, fucker. As we speak I am contacting my secret network of spies across the USA and your IP is being traced right now so you better prepare for the storm, maggot. The storm that wipes out the pathetic little thing you call your life. You're fucking dead, kid. I can be anywhere, anytime, and I can kill you in over seven hundred ways, and that's just with my bare hands. Not only am I extensively trained in unarmed combat, but I have access to the entire arsenal of the United States Marine Corps and I will use it to its full extent to wipe your miserable ass off the face of the continent, you little shit. If only you could have known what unholy retribution your little "clever" comment was about to bring down upon you, maybe you would have held your fucking tongue. But you couldn't, you didn't, and now you're paying the price, you goddamn idiot. I will shit fury all over you and you will drown in it. You're fucking dead, kiddo.
What sort of time frame did you have for this, so I can try to fit it into my schedule?
Yeah, and it's past your bedtime.
No my bedtime isn't until 7:30, my mommy said I have another hour of internet time until she tucks me in.
Is it even legal to even say all this if it is true? I mean, no offense if it is.
Either troll is successful or you must be new to the underside of the internet.
Good Ole' Obama, we can't make fun of him because it's racist...
That isn't even true. None of it is all that funny. It's just that there is no point in using the site to attack current policy. No one cares if you crack a joke towards Obama, but trying to make fun of his legislative packages is pointless. Just like how the jokes on here (at least since I've been around) have never attacked Republican agenda or Bush's policy, but rather the idiocy that Bush spewed from his mouth, such as his frequent misuse of words, and the stereotype that is Republicans. If you make a post about the usual Democrat being a freshman in college that learned about Kent State in their history last week, I'll certainly lol. And as for anti-American humor, that's all pretty stupid, too because it's entirely based on the idea that we're fat, deep-Kentucky based, cousin-lovers.
The only difference between Bush and Obama is that Obama is good at speeches and Bush wasn't. At the end of the day the president is just a glorified figure head anyway.
That's not even true. Bush grossly increased the deficit because rather than redirect funds, he just made more crap to be paid for, and when he ran out of money, he made the states pay for it (as exemplified by No Child Left Behind). Obama has actually redirected funds to try to allow for the budget he's making. And as for the stuff he's done. I'ma link you to DeathDark's comment.
I'd also like to note that I'm not a Democrat. I'm actually quite conservative in many areas. In fact, Nixon is one of my favorite Presidents because he got shit done. Honestly, though, The democrats have proven much more efficient in matters of the economy.
For some reason I found it rather amusing that you started both of your comments on this thread with a version of, 'That isn't even true.' I really don't know why, but it made me laugh.
Sigh. I think I'm losing it.
You're losing it? You've obviously been targeted by the liberal agenda! Those damn gay and lesbians are brainwashing society. Don't talk. Just listen to me spout off Fox News quotes because I watch it hourly and so I am an expert on every issue. I will tell you how to think correctly and save you from that gay and lesbian news channel AKA CNN.
Sorry Goddamage! I had to!
He may have got shit done, but he broke international law by invading Cambodia and Laos, lied to the American people and had one of the most regressive civil rights policies in US Presidential history!
Invading Cambodia and Laos wasn't against international law, just scummy. And I don't blame him for keeping military operations secret during a red scare, especially since American protests were becoming more and more militant while he was finally seeing a window to halt North Vietnamese operations in notorious supply routes. The civil rights thing isn't really excusable though. He was a product of his times, his fear, and his party. Plus it's hard to look like anything other than regressive following LBJ and JFK. xD
Maybe Bush wasn't good at speeches but I loved to hear him speak! What a dolt! He was hilarious!
"the idea that we're fat, deep-Kentucky based, cousin-lovers." I read that as being marinated in KFC sauce.
I'm not even sure that is actual english or just my dyslexia spazzing out, but it made me laugh. +1 to you sir, for my lols and for your logic!
Are you saying you're a republican? 'Cause that'd be funny.
I really don't understand how you get off on dis'ing Republicans? It's not like Democrats have done anything in the last 4 years.
Perry, Bachman, Bush, Ron Paul, Palin...
It's very easy to make fun of the Republican party for they offer themselves up for it.
Democrats have not been in charge for the past 4 years.
My bad. Although in my defense she deserves two votes in the moron club.
What about Herman Cain? Someone that actually stood up for what they believed in? Is that something to mock nowadays?
yes, you're supposed to do what everybody tells you to, and have no personality. We are all supposed to be politically correct and accept the will of the minority and ignore majority votes and ideals.
Allowing the top 1% to pay no taxes is a good thing?
And when exactly did he say that? or his administration?
What about Santorum? I still dont get why we, as a nation(the netherlands), did not sue him.
I'm a liberal, but I am going to upvote this since it is sort of true (with the major liberal bias here and whatnot).
That just shows that most of the community is liberal. KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE, GEEZE!
Actually, most of the country is center/right. It's just that most conservatives don't seek out this kind of humor, especially in places that don't welcome it.
I think community meant the lolbrary community - not the nation.
just talking about the lolbrary community.
Yeah, I see. I'm just putting it out there for the people who'll like it. Not trying to please everyone. I don't see this as a contest. To each, his (or her) own.
well then you really shouldnt care that the liberal majority hates republican posts, since youre not here to please them anyway.
If I cared, I wouldn't have posted this in the first place. I wasn't trying to rile people up or anything. I posted it, because I found humor in the reactions I had seen to different types of political stuff.
Like I said below, I'm not complaining, just noticing. Honestly, I'm surprised this post has gotten this many up votes. Lol.
Most of the jokes, are funny. However, most stuff posted about democrats is usually political in intent, and not as a joke.
We usually don't appreciate slander here, and in all honesty, I think we have more liberals on here anyway.
I'm a centrist, and I poke fun at both sides, especially when they do stupid shit, like politicians (Republicans and Democrats alike) tend to do.
I just happened to notice that the anti-Democrat stuff tends to get a response, not that it's not funny, but rather that Lolbrary isn't the place for that kind of humor. I've seen anti-Republican humor on here, but not with responses like that, and quite of bit of it with 100+ votes up.
Not complaining. Just an observation.
Like I said, it's not always humor, and more often than not, when people post anti-democrat stuff, it is slanderous. We, as a community, promote intelligent debate/discussion/thinking here. But when people just bash one group/party/persons, we disaprove of that promptly, and that gets noticed easily. People generally lean towards negative actions (why do people group up around fights?) and then the negative attitude you are noticing becomes more noticed.
Honestly, I think people attempt to bash democrats more often, but atm, we have a democrat in office, so that party is going to take the heat for most shit. When a republican takes office, the same thing will happen to that party.
People love their scapegoats.
/rant over.
Actually I think that would be libel, not slander. ;) And when Bush was in office I still made republican jokes. (It's so easy!)Of course I was in high school then so the jokes were probably not as funny as I thought they were.
But yes, People tend to group up around fights. Lemmings!!!
I poke fun at both sides, but, like stated, it's the stereotypes we're taking the piss of, not actual people, or mandates or whatever.
Also, regarding Obama, the only argument I've heard as to why he's a bad president has been "well... BECAUSE!" which is kinda stupid.
Then again, I can be a lot more objective. A lot of problems Obama is facing is the result of the person who served before (Bush).
Who was funny. We take this piss out of Bush cause he was a total idiot.
Yea... Most of the Obama haters I think just do not want to admit it was Bush's fault. Tat and the health care is frowned upon by some. My father had a tough time figuring out what he had to do with it since he runs his own small businesses.
I still don't understand why so many US citizens got so snotty about Health Care!
If someone hated Bush, there's no reason why that person should like Obama. He's continued most of Bush's policies, and everything Bush did wrong, he's done on a bigger scale, such as the bail-outs and economic stimulus and whatnot, with minimal positive effects, if any.
I voted for Obama, but I don't like him now, because he's been like Bush on steroids.
I could go into more detail, but THIS would be the kinda stuff that doesn't belong on Lolbrary. A list of Obama's failures isn't humor.
I don't like Bush because he had the IQ of a gnat. He was funny to laugh at, but really, all he had was charisma. Which is good if everything is hunky dory, but you saw how quickly the shit hit the fan as soon as the war broke out.
I still think Obama is doing a decent job - it's hard to put things straight when they've been messed up so royally before you.
Well, that would be all good, if Obama was actually trying something different to fix it. But that's my point. HE'S NOT. He's doing the same shit Bush did, on a much larger scale. In my book, that makes him exactly as stupid as Bush... and more.
If you want to talk about his actual personal intelligence, Obama has said his share of stupid shit... the 57 states comment that he made when he was campaigning, the "here in Asia" comment that he made in... wait for it... HAWAII, HIS FUCKING HOME STATE!! Is that not stupid enough for you? It's not like Bush ever said, "Here in Mexico", referring to Texas.
I can give more examples, if you like. Or you could check the net for yourself. Without a teleprompter or prepared speech, Obama tends to sound like an complete moron from time to time. Give this guy 8 years of saying stupid shit like Bush had, and I'm sure he'll catch up.
And don't even get me started on Biden. rolls eyes
Yes, Hawaii is not part of the Asia continent. But neither is it part of the North America continent. It is part of the United States, but it's not from the same continent.
What continent is it part of? Oceanic. Why? Because it's not on a land plate, it's on an ocean plate. What land plate is it closest to? Asia. Does it get mistaken as being on the Asian continent? Yes. Is it anywhere near the North American continent? No. It's American territory, it's not in North America though.
Same issue with Greenland; even though it is part of Denmark, it's on the North American plate which puts it in North America.
And you know, you try to sound educated, but clearly you don't know a lot about public speaking. I've done a fair bit (which is horrible and I hope never to do it again) and it's not easy to remember a 5 minute speech let alone the long speeches a president has to do.
Bush made so many comments which were just facepalm filled. At least Obama has never said "these folks" about terrorists! That's like us saying "oh, these blokes" about the Subway/bus/London bombing.
Man, you sure do know how to make excuses and point the finger at the other guy. No wonder you dig Obama.
I'm sorry, but when you refer to your HOME STATE as another country/continent/whatever, you're a dumbass. Make all the excuses you want, there are no two ways about it.
Actually, I took Public Speaking as one of the required courses for my degree. Aced it. And yes, a five minute speech is easy, if you know what you're doing. If it's not, you're not good at it. And if your excuse is good enough for Obama, it's a good enough for Bush, too.
For all the praise Obama gets for being such a talented speaker, a 5 minute speech shouldn't be a problem. That's like a NBA star getting called for double-dribbling.
Oh, I see. You're blind to your own bias. The more you say, the more you prove that. You have nothing good to say about Bush, and you have nothing bad to say about Obama. Ok, be that way. I get it. It doesn't make you right.
And maybe I misunderstood one or two of your previous comments, but you aren't even from America, are you? I suppose my critique of your (or anyone else's) country's leaders would be just as uninformed and irrelevant.
Okay, you don't seem to have a simple grasp of Geography. I shall use small bullet points so you understand;
Asia is a continent, not a country
North America is another continent
A plate which has no true land mass (Islands, etc are not land masses) is called an Oceanic Plate
A continent refers to the plate it is on; A plate is named, everything on that plate is part of that continent.
Any islands not on a land plate is classed as being in the Oceanic continent
Hawaii is on a plate without other land masses (remember, islands aren't considered land masses)
You do not need to be on the same land plate to be part of another country on a different continent. For example; Greenland is classed as being part of Denmark and Europe, but it is on the North America continent.
Hawaii is COMMONLY mistaken on being in the North America OR Asia continent, when it is not on either.
He was referring to his home state being on a different continent. Hawaii is on a different continent to the rest of the US states. However, a lot of people forget that there is an Oceanic continent, and thus class the island nations in that area being part of Asia. Hawaii is American territory, but it's not in North America. He should of said "Here in Oceania" but have you heard of Oceania? Obviously not, but ignoring the fact you don't have any knowledge of Geography, a lot of other people don't know there is an Oceania.
I'm bad at public speaking (or more, I'm scared of Public speaking) as I have a stutter. So I panic and mess up. Obama is tackling a lot more information and has a longer time of it than what you've got to do.
I have a habit of using "stupid" when I mean they say daft things at the wrong times. Bush's terminology, which would in any other situation be fine, was dreadful to use in war/terrorist times. Good president in times of peace, but not in times of war. He is a guy which is funny to laugh at, cause he said such rubbish from time to time. Exactly like Boris Johnson, who blurbs out some really weird stuff and everyone loves him for it - this will go out the window as soon as a big issue comes up.
And no, I'm from the UK. As of such I'm a lot more objective than you are on your presidents and see them from different perspectives. And by all means, share your opinion on my Prime Minister(s). However, the US doesn't seem to like it's residents knowing about other countries, whilst Obama is also on our news a lot (which I see, as it's on ALWAYS at work).
Whatever. Did you see my other comment where I said, "To each, his own"? My opinion on another country's leader might be amusing, but it doesn't carry the weight of the opinion of someone having to live with the politics and policies of that leader.
As I tell my liberal friends, I wish I could give you a long list of things that are good in my life because of Obama, but that just wouldn't be factually accurate. That's not to say things are bad for me. It's just that the good things aren't a result of anything he's done so far.
I pay more for gas. I pay more for groceries. I pay more for utilities. Maybe not his fault, but he hasn't improved the situation. However, if I didn't live in Texas, it could be much worse.
Good discussion. I appreciate the comments. Thanks for the input.
To be fair, in a recession (which is what's going on today and is not Obama's fault - same in the UK, it's the past leader which caused it), you have to make do with things increasing in prices as a way to try and get money back into the country. Tax raises for everything, so everything gets more expensive. It's unfortunate, but it's not actually that bad.
Look at the past. Things were a lot worse off, it's just people have gotten use to a cushy life and can't deal with the fact prices have to increase in order to keep the country afloat.
Now, if you started taxing people in regards to their income/property worth, it would be a lot easier. In the UK, we now have the Mansion Tax (if your property/income is worth more than x amount - can't recall how much - your tax is higher than others). It's fair, as they can afford to pay more into the pot, so to say, than the poor can. Some of the Middle Class (pretty much all business men etc), yes, are throwing up a bit of a stink, but the aristocracies are making cuts etc to help. And people who actually care about stopping us from getting worse off.
I'm of the opinion that views on politics are better off when coming from another country. This is because we're more objective. Like, I'll say Cameron is an utter bastard who can go to hell, but I really can't stand Tories so my views are biased.
So, I suppose that means you blame the September 11 attacks on Clinton, and not Bush, right? Cool. Fair is fair.
I also noticed in your entire comment, there's no mention of cutting spending. In reality, that is always the best option, when one is living beyond their means.
You can't spend your way out of debt. It's not a complicated concept. What part of that is so difficult for so many people to grasp?
I'm sick of arguing with someone who sees things as black and white as you do. I'd have more luck trying to convince a rock to roll.
Well, at least I actually see both the black AND the white.
The only thing I've seen you trying to convince me of, is that the actions of one side are inexcusable, and the same (or worse) actions of the other side are ok. You're biased. You've convinced me of that.
And yes, the Sept. 11 attacks were Clinton's fault, although it's not like I actually expected to hear you say that.
So, if Romney gets elected, by your logic, does that make his economic problems Obama's fault, or does it "skip a generation", and the blame still falls on Bush? Oh, of course you'll still blame Bush. Who am I kidding?
I'm sorry if pointing out hypocrisy makes you uncomfortable. Let this be a lesson for you in the future. If you have nothing else to say, we can both be done here.
Viewing the world in black and white is the wrong way to view it, which is my point, as there is not extreme good and extreme bad. I view the world in shades of grey.
The issues before a president comes to power is the predecessor's fault - however, if the issue was there before then that makes it the previous predecessor's fault. Catch my drift?
Point out my imaginary hypocrisy all you want to, it's you failing to see anything else. And actually, I'm just sick with talking to you. Other than several slips up in speeches, which is easy to do although shouldn't be done, is all what you've put forward as why Obama is bad. And I have actually stated, previously, that Bush was a good president in times of peace.
Regarding previous comments; heard of the phrase "in order to make money you need to spend it"? You do; as, on a small scale, it puts money back in the country AND, on a large scale, it creates jobs. I could go on, but really can't be arsed.
I don't know what cuts have been implemented. But no doubt if there been dramatic cuts, people would be just as angry about that.
Yeah, you're right. To hell with my fair criticism of both sides.
I'm not going to argue the philosophical implications of your "black and white" analogy. I certainly don't take that literally, as if there are only two sides. You on the other hand, seem to not be able to find any fault with the one side. Convenient how that side is also the side you seem to agree with.
Slip ups in speeches are all I've put forward as why Obama is bad?
You must've just skimmed through and missed the numerous times I pointed out Obama's bad policies (continuations of Bush's policies), but I can't help it if you avoid addressing those issues... like you have been.
You should probably just abandon this discussion, before I have to drag out the details. (sigh) We can take that road, if you like, but you'll have to forgive me for believing that it'll be no use to point out the actual facts for you. You don't seem interested in that kinda stuff.
You know what, I really really don't give a damn anymore.
Think what you want.
Ok.
So, just to be clear, does that mean you have no plans of addressing Obama's policies, and how they're mostly the same and/or worse than Bush's policies?
I have no more plans of talking to you about opinions on politics, as I have better things to do with my life.
That's what I expected.
Good discussion. Best wishes on those "better things" you have lined up to do.
Oh, piss off. If you want to know, I'm off to socialise with people in real life, and enjoy the 2days every 8days that I have off rather than waste it on a pointless subject
AND YES it is pointless, as it's not going to change a damn thing, is it? It's essentially just us slagging each other off and I really cannot be bothered with it.
I have stated, if you read, that Bush was a good President, just not when war came around. Obama is a better speaker (not perfect) than Bush, and seems more capable than him at times like these.
Fair enough, but I'll leave you with one last question:
At what point does the CURRENT administration start taking some blame for the country's problems?
It's hard to say with economy as majority of the time things have to get worse before they get better. It can take years and years to sort out money issues and, for that reason, I'm not going to answer that about the American economy, as it's really hard to gauge without having a copy of their figures if what's happening atm is working or not.
But, in general, if they're making the same mistakes. To be fair, I know Obama has the same policies being that they're both democratic, but there is an end of the war in sight now, what with relatively recent events.
And here's a bonus for just for you:
You've posted almost 3,000 (2,945 as of this post) comments since your Lolbrary Card was issued on November of last year. That averages out to about 14-15 per day.
Are you sure you have "better things to do"? I kinda doubt it. Lmao!!
I go on Lolbrary first thing after I get back from work or first thing in the morning. At that point, people have replied to comments I've made, so I reply back to them, then browse the recent stuff and maybe comment on them. That takes about... 1 hour, tops.
Remember, different time zone. So when the majority of users are on and posting (as most are in the US) it's around midnight or later for me. It thus has very little effect on my life.
And my word, that was so petty of you. I mean, I just found you irksome before, that just made you seem utterly pathetic in my eyes.
Whatever, man. Like you explaining that shit to me isn't petty.
Damn, you have a double-standard for everything, huh?
I was simply trying to educate you in Geography, since you didn't seem to know the difference between a continent and a country. I was patronising, not petty.
"Oh, you mustn't have a life as you make 15 posts a day!!!!" is just a pathetic way of belittling someone (and failing, btw) as you have no idea how they're replying, or what they do with their life.
Dude... I'm done here. Fuck off.
@ Nixie - I've been reading this thread and I have to say that I agree with you here. How pathetic to check on your comments and such. How petty indeed.
It's was just an unnecessary dig, really. I mean, I know I can comment on his stats, but I don't really see what that had to do with the political debate we were having.
ooh! ooh! i know this one!
the 9/11 attacks were the senates(democrats and republicans both) and clinton's fault! he tracked down osama during his term and could've assasinated him, but was urged not to by his environment. So he didnt. Clinton's inability to resist peer pressure resulted in thousands of deaths.
damn you clinton.
On the other hand, bush arguably wasnt even trying to kill the dude(just look at everything he was able to do with osama lurking out there). obama did however.
As a foreigner dont know if bush was or wasnt trying to get osama, but its strange obama got him that fast after ellection yes? dat conspiracy
EDIT: and be nice to nixie, she didnt ask for this. oh, and way to go there with the personal jabs bro, that totally shows you won that argument!
Well, in all fairness, Obama caught Bin Laden using policies that were put in place by the Bush administration... policies the Democrats were against when Bush was in charge.
Good work, on both of their parts.
as or the original topic, most of the news I get about obama is about how the republicans and democrats(the senate?) are fucking him over the whole time. Besides he's socialist by your standards meaning he's politically closer to (almost) all european countries than other american politicians. so yea we dig him :P
(which also explains why the internet is more leftwing than the US itself.)
While I feel most of the political related posts on here are to do with US politics, I actually find them pretty amusing. I wouldn't mind seeing more of it, so long as it's not stupid humour like "omg look how crap the Republicans/Democrats/ are". I mean, I understand US politics on a basic level as I watch the news, am a History student etc., so it's nice to see people's views on them. Anyway, I don't think this post is entirely accurate. I think the whole "it's only funny/a joke when it's not the Democrats" thing is largely exaggerated, it's just easier to defend Democrat policies compared with Republican ones (at the moment). Like any democratic system with two or three main political parties; a party gets into power, people get fed up of them, they get booted out after x number of terms in favour of another party, the cycle continues!
As seen in this country with Labour and Conservative.
It's easier to take the piss out of Conservative as, generally speaking, they're utter snobs. So it's funny to make "public school boys" jokes.
Especially about Cameron and Clegg. Although they've been having a lover's tiff lately lol
Haha yeah, but I think in Britain we're cynical and sceptical on a level where we distrust all the parties. You rarely find comedians taking the piss out of then Tories and the supporting Labour or the Lib Dems, it's more just laugh at the politicians!
EDIT: I accidentally a word
"I accidentally a word"? lol
Yeah, we just ridicule everyone, as they're pretty much all the same. All public school boys, all blithering idiots lol
god damnit! see 87 fucking comments, you guys overeact way to much your proving his point!
Yeah, but your posts all suck....
Republicans are poo-poo-heads. Pass it on!
If you have read through this entire troll fest and arrived at this comment: You poor bastard, you deserve a medal.
If you have scrolled past everything to see more funny links at the bottom: Reply to this, you're in good company.
TL;DR: TL;DR. Can't be arsed with all that shit.
