It's all related to perspective. Conservative religious folk say, "Extremist conservative christians are the problem!" Moderates say conservatives are the problem. Liberal religious people say that mainstream Christianity is off-base. Non-religious people can identify the entirety of world religions as being problematic.

Ignorance is the problem, actually, as that's the reason why there is radical/extreme views.
