We're Screwed

I wonder if a problem like that has ever actually happened.

Yup. My supervisor is a fireman. Two weeks ago the station was hosting a cooking class and set the place on fire. They were too embarrassed to call another ladder so they put it out with a garden hose. Then they found out that the truck that had been away (supervisor of the ladder was with the truck) had been stuck in the mud at the time and could not have helped even if they had called them.

We lost the huge municipal market in Catacamas, Olancho, Honduras, a few years ago due to the fire department--out of the two fire trucks available, one was out of gas, and the other was out of water.

Why do I have the feeling that someone got fired that day?
