You know, I didn't find this that funny when I first saw it, and I find it less funny about the zillionth time I saw it. Yes, the image has changed, but the joke is the same.

Fun Fact: Statistically, the current generation coming of age(born 1991-2000) is the least violent in 50 years.

And the ones who are violent aren't the sort to play video games anyway.

The whole video games/films make children violent are by people who don't want to own up to their poor parenting.

Oh yes, music is also the cause.

I know some kids are little shits without help from the parents, but blaming the media is just stupid.

Don't forget that the late Elvis gave rise to teen pregnancy!

Hahaha. The statistics that I was shown took that into effect. We're generally considered less violent (It is my generation, so "we" is appropriate.) because now we equip children with the skills to verbalize their feelings, and we no longer feel the urge to act out through violence. It's those that are bullied and aren't given the chance to communicate that grow violent.

Well regardless of why, that is good news to hear.

I just did an essay on why talking it out, and not acting is a bad idea. I cited the fact that your goals rarely get accomplished, and that talking it out is not always viable.

I mean look at bullied kids, when they turn to violence, there goals are accomplished, or at least they are closer to their goals, unlike those who just take it the harassment and do nothing.

Bullied children who act through violence don't have a real goal in mind, though. They just think something must be done, but their minds are clouded by anger.

Well, when your choices are suck it up and deal with versus kill everyone, the answer is kind of obvious in my opinion. I would have done the ladder had I had access to a gun long ago. Now I'm a mildly depressed teen trying to get through high school, get into college, and go through with life. I still don't know if I made a good choice, but oh well.

I lol'd. Since we're all serial here, though, there's a great Penn & Teller episode about this.

At one point they give a kid addicted to Call of Duty a real gun and have him fire it at a target once. Next scene, he's crying and hugging his mom.

Yeah, those vidya gaems are just churning out the sociopaths.
