FUUUUU expectations!

Did you actually try to do this?
That's understandable -- I feel like German desserts are really extravagant and difficult to make. All I know how to do is put pre-made cookie dough in the oven and hope for the best...
There's this really difficult German chocolate cake I can never get right, there are three layers and something always goes wrong! I've never seen pre-made cookie dough in German stores before, at least not like you can buy it in the US.
Which one you talking about?? My cakes are either perfect or resemble a large cookie. A nice cookie, but it's very very flat...
You bake three flat cakes and tower them together with creamy chocolate. It's a recipe I got from my Mom... Either I destroy the layers, or the chocolate isn't liquid enough, or doesn't spread properly.. there's always something :/
I might be able to do that...
If I could make creamy chocolate...
lol, probably not though. I can make banoffee pie cupcakes though! I kinda just went with it and they came out really nommy! :3
Wooo baking lol
Ahhh I love baking! Never made anything fantastic, though.
If you want, I can send you the recipe :D
Oooh, yes please!!
Nah, baking is something I love but not necessarily that good at it. Whilst with drawing, writing and sewing I can leave it and come back to it, baking you have to pay attention to it or... it doesn't work very well lol.
I like to decorate cakes though!! That's fun :3
Okay, here's the recipe:
1 pckg (4 oz.) sweet chocolate 1/2 cup boiling water 1 cup butter/margarine 2 cups sugar 4 egg yolks 1 tsp vanilla 2 1/4 cups sifted all purpose flour 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 1 cup buttermilk 4 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Melt chocolate in boiling water. Cool. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add yolks, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Blend in vanilla and chocolate. Sift flour with baking soda; add alternately with buttermilk to chocolate mixture, beating until smooth. Fold in beaten egg whites. Pour into three 9" layer pans, lined on bottoms with paper. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30-35 min. Cool. Frost tops only.
Okay and what I do is, after frosting the tops, I frost the sides as well. Decorating is my thing, too. :D
Ahhh Fahrenheit and cups!!! Nooooooes!!!
lol, I'll try it best with those measurements, I'll look up the Fahrenheit to Celsius.
Thankies ^__^ I'll post a image up of it when I get round to making it.
Awesome! Now don't go showing off and making it PERFECT on your first try ;)
Bahahahaha!! Only if the God of Baking comes and blesses me or something!
I'll keep my fingers crossed that it turns out better for you!! :D
I hope it... gets distracted IRON MAN 2 IS ON! YAAAAAY!
EDIT: Oh no, I was wrong. It's just a show thing talking about The Avengers and the characters from it. Which I don't mind either :p
Cookie Monster needs to be piped on.
And they eyes should have been icing.
Plus, the Cookie Monster was actually iced on cupcakes, not onto cookies. Hence why they kinda look like flat demented frogs instead.
Also, I strongly suspect they tried to frost the cookies before they cooled properly, which made the icing melt.
Looks that way as well, but those were my "suggestions" to anyone wanting to try this at home.
I might try it, tbh...
Just saw this is a repost! hehe http://www.lolbrary.com/post/9913/expectations-vs-reality/
