Oh, look, it cut off the last part. It was supposed to say "Thanks for your help!"
I think the pink goes better with that background
A hard decision on the one hand we have mint, a color which looks really impressive and radiates confidence and power.. and on the other hand.. there is pink.
Too many indecisive people.
I'll go ahead and hint that I already consulted a professional in the area, but I won't say which way she voted.
AKA his mother.
(I know she's a graphic artist, but I had to put it lol)
I know lol, but I saw the opening for a it and I took it.
Personally, I like the color green, so I'm a little biased. I think the pink goes better though just because of the name of the website.
I shall tell you where the name come from.
Originally, I was going to open a shop with a friend, where she made plushies, hats, scalfs and gloves (anime/japan/nerdy ones)and I made cosplay/costume related things. She was LottiePop (she likes lollypops) and naturally I'm Nixie the Pixie. I suggested Pixie Pop
However, I now no longer speak to LottiePop, for reasons which are personal to me, and since 1. I chose the name and set up the email with it and 2. she's stopped doing her stuff and isn't setting up a business I took the name with me.
Dunno why I felt like telling you that.
Although, just to say, everyone seems to do "pixie = pink, girlie, cute!". I see Pixies as more mischievous, and faeries as the "pink, girlie, cute!" thing.
Lol, I see neither of them as cute or girlie, but I think that comes with paganism. Green is definitely the color I'd align with any of the Folk. And I like Pixie Pop. It's catchy.
If I'm going to align a color with pixies, I'd pick a darker color. However, neither of those are dark, I chose the one that seemed more similar. Both start with the same sound. That was how I chose. =/
Badass, have you ever seen face off on syfy nixie?
Yup! it's awesome and brilliant and fantastical!
But also in the US, so I actually have to pirate it. Like everything else - and actually it's watched by most peeps on a UK costume forum I go on
And I don't do make-up, I do costumes :3 I wish I could do make-up though
Definitely mint for me -- the pink looks ditsy
Hmm. IMO, the green reminds me of mint ice cream. Which, as we all know, is delicious. However, the pink just seems more fun and... I don't know... open? So, even though green is my favorite of all the colors, I choose pink.
Also, now I really want some mint ice cream.
The mint is much more appropriate. Mint has always appeared as a much more sprite-like (Pixie-esque) color. The green also creates a nice contrast against the brown that gives an impression of a mint chocolate, and leaving the impression of candy in a user's mind has always proven useful in commercialism. IMHO opinion, I PREFER pink, but I think the Green makes more sense, so, to avoid confusion, I vote Mint.
As far as marketing goes. Green is the color of growth, nature, and money. A calming color also that's very pleasing to the senses.
Whereas pink is the color for love. (Yes not red!) so to be more businesslike or professional.
LE MINT!
Awww that's so awesome!!! I prefer the mint :D
oh. I guess you DID ask me.
I think the green makes it look more mischeiveously pixie pop, the pink makes it look cutsie and girly. I like the green.
I would ordinarily pick green, but I really dislike that particular shade of mint. So I think I'd vote... none of the above? Sorry, I know that's not helpful!
I'm about to delete the image anyhow. The green was decided on overall, along with two graphic designers and the "customer" (Nixie), so we're going with it.
The end product will look different, but I'll keep your opinion in mind and see if there's a better shade. What do you think -- something less pastel?
I was thinking with the brown that something with a bit less of a blue tone would be nice? Like a more spring green or chartreuse as opposed to mint green. If you google image search "chartreuse on brown design" you'll see examples of what I mean. But that's just me--obviously, it's what Nixie wants that's important!
I have to certainly disagree there. The mint is a "fresher" color than the chartreuse, which looks like wasabi sauce.
I don't like chartreuse on its own at all, but with a chocolate brown I think it looks nice. In my opinion the mint looks and feels a bit dated whereas a green with more yellow feels more modern. But design is SO subjective, so as long as everyone's happy with the result, who cares what I think? Go for it! :)
With modern web design, the chartreuse would have to be able to stand on its own as a color before working it into a scheme because it will end up on its own somewhere in the design.
