Well the web developer consensus here is that IE is slow. It may be the more secure and compatible with windows, but when I accidentally click it, you can hear me a mile a way groaning in agony as I have to wait for it to start up. Derp.

my ie starts in 5 to 10 secs, as where my chrome or firefox takes 30-45 secs

In my honest opinion all browsers have their ups. Firefox is the only browser that works REALLY good on my laptop, so I'm kinda biased to other browsers, but hey I've tried all (the good ones).

It's not so much that it's slow for me (most of thwe web pages I visit aren't very demanding), it's that it isn't reliable and crashes a fair bit. Opera is my favorite for it's tools, but firefox is what I use for everything else if I need something I need to work 100% of the time.
