I didn't read that, but I think you're right. It isn't the chain she "caught" on, it was a separate rope. If you look carefully you can see that both the chains are on the swing, and a rope is going to her.

I saw something on it and they claimed it was a scarf that caught onto the chain, thus pulling her back and making the mark. Seems questionable to me.
