I love this so much.
Good grammar, good punctuation, and good spelling except for guerilla? Wow...
so... no one knows how to spell GUERRILLA warfare eh? just me?
Weird... I thought it didn't show up with the red squiggly lines when I spelled it as "guerilla".
He almost pulled it off too... It was just that one word he misspelled "Guerrilla"
My uncle still has nightmares from guerilla warfare. NOTHING prepares you for it, so I can't see how they can truly train you for it.
The only real training is to expect little logic... which is hard. That's part of what makes guerilla warfare so effective. It's hard to predict your adversary's next move when neither of you have any idea what he's doing.
The dungeon traps and stuff on those films and from the Tomb Raider games.
They're not far from the truth.
He lost a lot of comrades in that type of warfare, but no-one remembers about it.
I did some of this training. It doesn't prepare you for it, but it helps to keep it from being a surprise. The highlights:
They attacked our perimeter every night. Usually just a probe. Looking for weak spots, but you loose a couple hours of sleep because you are on full alert in the middle of the night.
They would "herd" civilians (they aren't really civilians, but they play them during the exercises) toward whatever area we were defending and would attack in the confusion, making it very difficult to limit civilian casualties and identify infiltrators.
They captured an ambulance and used it to gain access to the field hospital, creating chaos and "killing" many irreplaceable medical personnel. Even more damage was caused by friendly fire, when soldiers didn't consider that bullets don't just disappear when they miss their target.
You learn to follow procedures and how to deal with unexpected problems. You should learn discipline and not to be over aggressive. It's a mindset and it is much better to get a taste of that kind of stress in a controlled environment.
I'm talking about 30 years ago though...
I wasn't trying to compare my training to your uncle's service. I was just telling you what kind of things they do to train you to fight against guerillas. There is no way to fully train you for it, but they do try.
I doubt anyone will remember my war either, and when they do it will be about all the mistakes that were made or Abu-Ghraib and such. I remember and honor the fallen though, and I'm sure your uncle does too. That's all we can do.
unless his name is chris kyle....FRAUD! O.O

For the record, I've seen this exact YouTube post on 5 videos now, each under different username, and thankfully each time the guy got his ass kicked in following comments.
My freind, it is a copy-paste for little kids. I doubt bob's failed attempt to rule over youtube was orchestrated by a single youtuber, nor was the resistence.
am i the only one who HIGHLY doubts the man who made this comment?
I just saw that exact comment by somebody else. It's a copy and paste "I'm such a badass" thing.
BadgerOverdose doesn't care. BadgerOverdose doesn't give a SHIT.

Rule one of warfare, You CANNOT, CANNOT, Defeat Guerrilla fighters in the long term. Only one country has ever done it, and it was when armies had muskets.
