Whoa motherfucker. 'Merica? That's a confederate flag. We don't associate ourselves with rednecks.
I don't feel like going into another argument over the confederate flag, but suffice to say it doesn't mean what you think it means.
"good idea not to associate with bigoted wifebeaters"
Guy above you implied confederate flags ONLY indicate rednecks, thus addressing one group addresses the other.
If you want to see bigotry, you may want to read that fucking comment.
To properly refer to your last post, you said you never referred to the guy above you. However, you may note your comment was indented, so you were responding to him. That means you're referring to his post. Not to mention you referred to him using a pronoun.
Now, let's take the rest of your comment: "I referred to redneck/trash assholes that always scream at each other, burn trash, and beat their wives and children and are plastered 70% of the goddamn day!"
And replace "redneck" with "nigger" and "plastered" with "high": "I referred to nigger/trash assholes that always scream at each other, burn trash, and beat their wives and children and are high 70% of the goddamn day!"
Maybe now that I put it like this you can see how you're acting.
"We joke about a lot of stuff and some of this content may offend people, but if you are actually racist, sexist, an asshole, etc, just leave now." -- Lolbrary Rules
If you're not a racist, don't talk like one.
It's not bigotry to call an asshole an asshole, but it is bigotry to generalize a group of people and summarize them as the worst possible stereotype and then call them all assholes because you refer to them as their worst possible case.
The fact that your comment was indented INDICATES YOU REPLIED TO HIS POST. The caps was necessary so you could see them, since you missed it the first time. Thus it's relevant.
Let me explain the flag thing again. The original poster implied the flag could only be associated with rednecks, and that rednecks, and thus the confederate flag, were bad things to associate with. You agreed, telling him, "good idea not to associate with [them]." By saying this, you indicated you agreed with his exclusive association of rednecks and confederate flags.
I'm not going to sit here and brag and show you how "feeble" my mind is, but you're in over your head. I don't speak like a scholar to impress you, I speak like I speak because that's what comes naturally to me.
I'd like to note that I have yet to reference the picture. It's not been my concern, though the outfit is atrocious because his pants and vest have the exact same design, which can work, but not with blaring red designs like that.
My point in explaining, by the way, was to show you how the comment reads, not my interpretation of it.
Lastly, I find it amusing you think I'm a mod on a power trip. I'm just a normal user who gives technical advice to the admin. My only powers are my wit, logic, knowledge, and the friends I've accrued on this site.
"I don't feel like going into another argument..." -- Me
I called you a bigot because that's how your statement read. I've dealt with more than a few, and you won't be the first or last. If you don't want me to call you a bigot, don't act like a bigot.
If I showed up on lolbrary and called all Muslims pedophiles, women beaters, and terrorists, I'd be a bigot. You showed up and called all rednecks women beaters, child beaters, and drunkards. You're a bigot.
Him: "We don't associate ourselves with rednecks."
You: "good idea not to associate with bigoted wifebeaters"
You can lie to yourself, but not to me.
Technically, they ARE a group of people. When you say "Redneck" they're a very typical type of person you're referring to. True, they're not a race, but neither are Goths, but you wouldn't tar them all with the same brush (I would hope).
Basically saying all Rednecks are "assholes that always scream at each other, burn trash, and beat their wives and children and are plastered 70% of the goddamn day" means you are being discriminative to that type of person. Yes, there are some which are really nasty pieces of work, but there are nice ones as well - Sometimes it's ignorance that spurs that sorta behaviour rather than it being intentional.
And "bigot," a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices, especially one who exhibits intolerance and animosity toward members of a group - which is what you're doing, so does make you a bigot I'm afraid. You can't tar everyone with the same brush, it's like saying all the Germans are Nazis and want to kill Jews.
You replied to INmySTRATEjaket comment, who clearly stated Rednecks. And since "good idea not to associate with bigoted wifebeaters" was a direct response to his comment, it suggests you are referring to Rednecks in your comments, which thus suggests you are targeting a specific group of people, in this case Rednecks. I do understand English. It is because I understand English really damn well (A at A-level, thankyouverymuch) that it seems like your comments were targeting Rednecks. Perhaps you need to think a bit more before posting a comment on something, like saying "not just Rednecks, best not to be associated with any bigoted wife beaters".
The reason why it came across that you were acting bigoted is because of how YOU were wording things, no-one else. You need to put more thought in your written language, as it can really put across the wrong message, which it did here.
And unfortunately, bigots are not necessarily acting against the law. Society says it's wrong to be prejudice and intolerant to others, but it's not actually illegal.
Seriously? Listen, what DeathDark and I did is basic English, where you read what is implied. It's really standard English, and is what people do everyday.
YOU need to word yourself properly, otherwise you would not have been misread.
And that's the face of defeat.
Not you, but the other chick.
SkyBrigidRain is a girl? I presumed guy (I always presume guy on this site though).
Either gave up, or realised the mistake that was made.
The name looked feminine to me. I could be right, or I could be insulting them. Either works.
... Yeah, is rather more feminine now I think about it... Then again, some guys do have girlie usernames i.e. "littleFlowerPetal" (another site I go on) is a heterosexual body builder - he's got that name cause his little girl wanted him to.
Dude why do you always get so mad, every argument I see you in you always snap have a civil argument for once geez. Death Dark can at least keep a cool head
It's funny because the rebel flag stands for states that tried to secede from "America."
There's a lot of deleted comments on this thread >.
I like that until you get further down, It's just DeathDark talking with a bunch of deleted comments. It makes it difficult to upvote him and Nixie, but I found a way.
I feel like They are just arguing with themselves haha.
I take it that it was useful that we took direct quotes then?
Yea, I could piece together what was said, or the gist of it. I like reading what a few of you guys/gals write. Usually very well informed, or at least thought out arguments. It's nice on this site =)
We have an eloquent way of arguing rather than "NO, YOU!"
Yea, only sometimes is the "NO, YOU!" argument and similar ones good. But everyone has to be playing along for that imo.
You mean the exceptionally piss takey "we're not actually arguing just being childish and pissing about" arguments?
