Why do women do this?

I despise MTV, but this show made me die laughing every now and then. Is it getting a second season?
It's a show called Awkward. In the first episode, she slips while opening aspirin before she gets in the tub and knocks a hair dryer in and ends up breaking her arm. Everyone thinks she attempted suicide, and, from there, it just gets horribly, horribly uncomfortable.
I sure thought so, but I live for awkward. :)
I enjoyed it a lot before Steve Carrell left.
Yes he was the king of awkward.
Well if you like uncomfortable humor...
yes it is its playing now :D can't believe the mother wrote the note HWAT A BITCH! sorry had to get that out, i usually don't like mtv but when i do its awkward.
Cause we don't want to have a heart broken; if the guy we like tries everything to get with us, then they're less likely to take us for granted when they have us.
If that makes sense.
No, that's not a valid excuse. For example, someone like me would automatically ignore you as soon as bitch mode activated. Now you just turned away a great potential partner because he didn't want to have to deal with your shit, even though that shit was just an act.
You can browse through this site and see all the images of girls rejecting guys because they're kind or romantic and ending up with assholes. You do the same with this, since usually it's only assholes who have the will or the mentality to try to get through bitch-shields, as it takes self-confidence, which doesn't come as easy as telling yourself you can do it.
tl;dr -- If you like someone, send signals that you're interested. Mentally keep yourself from "falling" for him until you can tell if he's an asshole or not. This way, you can end up with no broken hearts and a good boyfriend.
Also, it would probably help to go after those who appear to be nerds, because they usually are, and they'll usually treat you better than the guys with the reversed caps and muscle-tees and that shit.
I would say that just like there are assholes with reversed caps and muscle-tees, there are bitches with weird standards and obsessions with game-playing. Not all men are like that (as you've pointed out) and not all women are like that either. Sites like these (and this type of internets in general) are dominated by men, so you get a lot more images of men complaining about women then you get of women complaining about men. So using this site as an example is a bit skewed.
Speaking as a girl who has only ever exclusively dated geeks, don't paint us all with the same bitch brush. ;)
(Also, when a girl spots a guy staring at her boobs, he usually looks away and tries to pretend he wasn't. It's the same thing, girls don't want to be caught drooling over some guy they don't know, because it could result in mockery and embarrassment.)
I wasn't trying to say all women were like that, I was trying to address a flaw in that mindset. I tend to address errors like this in any gender/sex addressing other ones (if you want, I'll link you the posts) because I'd rather see people getting along better.
Also, at least the guys I know wouldn't mind catching women drooling over them. It's a very easy indicator of "she's a possibility," which can quickly lead to a relationship.
"Also, at least the guys I know wouldn't mind catching women drooling over them"
The mere thought of being caught drooling over someone is highly embarrassing for me. Relationships are weird, I'm just gonna get old and live with a house full of cats lol
But you being embarrassed would then be seen as cute, and thus make you more attractive.
This is hard to reply to... Erm...
IDK, I'd still be utterly mortified by it. Plus, guys only really like cuteness from cute girls, not really tall girls who wear suits and shizz.
this is very true, i've caught a guy starring at my chest but i didn't say anything about it, actually i was a bit flattered, as weird as that sounds. i'm not used to guys looking at me like that and i don't know it felt... cool. i know that sounds so wrong but i don't know if you were a nerd guy and saw a cute girl looking at you wouldn't you be a bit flattered?
I was just doing it from the POV that I know some of the girls I know do - "it's better not to be loved than to be hurt" is some of their mentality.
I personally go into the "don't make an idiot out of myself" mode, which, at times, makes me seem cold. But that's cause I struggle to socially interact with people IRL. I come across as cold to a lot of people IRL where in reality, I'm actually too shy and have no confidence to talk to people, let alone play mind games with them.
Like Lirali says; there are guys who are arseholes and bitches that play games. Some girls even think that's what guys like, despite the fact I have yet to meet a guy who's gone "I love mix messages! Best thing since sliced bread! Hell yea!"
But yeah, mine was a quick response to the question in the title, from the girls I speak to.
As to dating nerds - I know 4 'nerds' who are not dating who live nearby me. 3 are gay, and one is exceptionally annoying. He's very adamant that his way is the correct way and is the sort that will fixate on something until it becomes really really annoying. If we include the whole UK, then there is one guy who is exceptionally nerdy and always puts a smile on my face and brightens my day. But he lives 5 hours away by speeding car :/
Really, I'm a sucker for compliments. Probably because of the lack of confidence. But I'm getting better!!!
Well, a boyfriend is supposed to make you feel better, aren't they?
They are. But sometimes boys just get a girl so they can get into their pants.
And that makes the girl feel like shit.
Bitch Mode is that what it's called? I thought It was just getting rejected.
I love this show lol. I happened upon it one day while I was channel surfing. It was actually the very beginning of the first episode. Me and my sister have been hooked since.
