FALSE!

That's wine. Irish don't drink wine they drink whisky or whisky like substances which are technically illegal...

And yes, whisky and whiskey are different - whiskey is Scottish, whisky is Irish.

Buckfast is a fortified tonic wine - so I would put it under the wine umbrella.

Although wine has recently gotten into the top 10 (number 9) of popular drinks with the Irish, it really only is for meals and it still can't compete with the popularity of whiskey and Guinness which the Irish are much more famous to like anyway.

On top of that, Buckfast is much more popular with the younger kids, cause of how cheap it is. Frankly, they're not gonna be the sort to do yoga.

Hence why I don't view wine to be the correct drink.

Actually, the Irish mostly drink Budweiser and Heineken, because they hate beer and only want to get pissed as fast as possible without having to taste what they're drinking. As a German, I can only say that the closest thing to beer you can get in Ireland is Carlsberg, which is wildly unpopular, because it actually tastes a bit like beer as opposed to horsepiss or chemical waste. Guiness is a very different thing altogether, people don't order it because it takes 10 minutes to pour if it's done right and no Vindaloo will even do 10% of the damage to your digestive system. People do drink Whiskey, but only at home, not in the pub, because it costs the equivalent of the Irish state deficit to buy, so all the Irish fly to Spain, buy their whiskey (and cigarettes) there and bring them home. Important lesson to anyone coming to Ireland! Don't buy your booze here, wait till you get home.

... A good part of my family come from Ireland. They all drink Irish Whiskey.

My Dad's side is Scottish, they drink Scottish Whiskey

The ones that don't drink whiskey drink brandy.
