Virginity is just if you've had sex or not... it coincidentally has a physical (and therefor provable) change in women.

I wouldn't equate physical loss of the maidenhead to the symbolic loss of virginity. That can be lost from any number of different activities from bike riding to horseback riding to fouling up a grind on a skateboard. That's the Puritan-era standard for virginity and is as reliable now as it was then.

I would argue that virginity is now more symbolic than physical. You can break the hymen (which is the physical aspect of virginity) through a lot of means that do not include sexual intercourse. If a girl uses a tampon does that means she's not a virgin?

And as to my previous comment, I was just being philosophical.
