I thought of this while seeing "Austin's" post about suggestions for teh lolbrary.
But I've got a great idea that I bet a lot of you would agree on.
How bout we get a mobile version of the site for cell phones, or even better, an app! This way we can lol on the go. Especially for people like me who have a 4 hour train commute a day.

The idea looks well supported, so I'll try to look into it. It should be a simple app to make, so I'll let ya'll know when it's up.

I don't even have a mobile phone with this kind of capability, but I concur.
I figured an app would be sweet but I didnt want to get too far ahead of myself seeing as a mobile version of the site would do just fine in my book.

See i also visit 9gag as well, yes their is more content but here its easier to connect with funny people as i see that the commenting is much simpler and easier to be notified when their is a response from a fellow lolbrarian, and creating a better experience. So i prefer lolbrary ;{D
msging is quite a nice feature in lolbrary. however for the purpose of a mobile app, I don't want to be stuck on commenting. just give me content and make me laff.
Bosrobot, I'm glad to hear that you love the commenting system. One of the main goals for the site design is simplicity, and I've tried to keep that in mind with the commenting system.
Additionally, I've purposely avoided forcing people to login via facebook since a lot of people want to keep their online life separate from their public/facebook life. Though I am going to integrate the lolbrary with facebook as an option for those who do want that connection in the future.
Don't worry, it isn't illegal to visit both sites ;-)

I've thought about the idea of an app for lolbrary every time i use my phone. it's a must!!
I go to Wimp.com a lot and they have an android app if that will help you in any way death.

I do check the site from my phone, I just have to make sure I can recognise a gif or an otherwise huge file to avoid clicking on expand and sucking up my bandwidth. I'd welcome a little gif-indicating thing or just a text line telling how big a file is though, so we can decide whether we want to bother loading it on the phone :)

I really like that this has such an overwhelming response to it. This is how stuff gets done, I just wish politics ran the same way, lol
well I dont need it, but for those unfortunate enugh to having to outsource their brain to some clever phone it might come in handy. Maybe also a google app, so you dont have to browse there? Just an idea..

Actually you can just go to the site and it shows it in slightly condensed but functional format.
