Frankly, SOPA and PIPA have been shut down successfully ( http://www.lolbrary.com/post/12144/sopapipa-defeated/ ). However, ACTA is still alive, and is worse than SOPA/PIPA ever were. I know it's hard to rally thinking about how we just defeated a giant enemy, and a bigger one shows up, but that's how stories go.
Not to mention, didn't Lamar come out with a new act that was basically just sopa wrapped in a "somebody think of the children" shell?
The new act's only provision was that internet service providers must keep a record of their clients' web history for at least 18 months. No censorship, and it's nothing ISPs don't already do.
Regardless, I don't like the idea of government messing with my internet.
It's another PIPA called "Protection children from Internet Pornagraphy Act"
Yes that's the one.
Gah I really hope thisguy doesn't. Get re-elected.
ACTA is European legislature, and, although the US CAN vote on it, it won't happen with the outrage over SOPA/PIPA. Everyone can chill the fuck out now.
STOP POSTING ABOUT SOPA. IT DIED A LONG ASS TIME AGO.
Be more concerned about NDAA
And that's already on the books. Supposedly it was signed into law with the understanding that it wouldn't be enforced, but things like that tend to come back to haunt us.
Who cares? Let the right-wingers have the internet. We'll just make a new one where they aren't allowed. You can't copyright zeroes and ones. Nor can you burn books that have been converted as such.
Animated interspecies sexual intercourse? This should be NSFW according to everything I've seen on this site so far! WTF! (Don't make it NSFW. I'm bitching about the unnecessary NSFWing on here.)
Best. GIF. Ever!
I'm surprised nobody made an NEDM joke.
