I've always used the Oxford comma and my teachers haven't said anything. I also go to school in the U.S.

Then why do so many students internationally transfer to US schools?

I go to an American school and I use Oxford commas, though I never knew they had a name.

I rarely use Oxford commas, but, now that they have an association with a name in my brain, I believe I shall use them more often.

Of, course, excessive commas can, often, piss, many, people off, whether, used, correctly, or otherwise.
