Did a little bit of searching (a couple of minutes), and this device is known as an "OstrichPillow" (http://www.ostrichpillow.com/).

Designed by Kawamura Ganjavian (you'd have to be at least a little stoned to conceive of such a thing) and manufactured by Studio Banana Things, it has a hole where the face is, allowing the dozer to breathe. Why these images show the person face down is beyond me, but with the right ventilation it appears to provide some decent rest by blocking out all sounds in a comfy sort of manner (at least that's the intention).

It just looks plain silly to me.
